Program Daily Routine
Due to our very small adult-child ratio (1:2), we are able to tailor the activities to your child´s need. All of our staff is therapists or therapists in training which means your child has a professional that knows his developmental needs and is there to faster the skills necessary for success.
For children that are already receiving services at My Time, this would be the perfect opportunity for the therapists to see your child in a different scenario and asses his/her coping skills, ability to function in a group setting, flexibility to transition between activities, interaction with peers and authority figures.
9:00 – 9:30 am.
Welcome song and Free Play at Gym , during these 30 mins your child will have the chance to free play in the gym given children the opportunity to create they own games is critical in their development. The therapist will be there to assist the children that have a specific difficulty with this skill and also to facilitate peer interaction.
9:30 – 10:30 am.
Art/ Cooking/ Language Development activity: this activity is lead by a speech therapist or occupational therapist and we usually break in smaller groups divided by skill level to ensure each child is getting the specific type and amount of help they need to participate successfully
10:30 – 11:15 am.
Snack and free play. Our Summer Camp provides snack so children with feeding difficulties are exposed to new food, a feeding therapist will lead the snack time to make sure each child gets to interact with the problematic food in a safe way. Free play here is in the smaller rooms and is aimed to develop “dramatic play” skills that are fundamental for cognitive and language development.
11:15 – 12:00 m.
Sensory time, this activity is lead by an occupational therapist, here your child´s sensory system will get stimulated and challenged in new but fun situation.
12:00 – 12:45 am.
Language skills activity, lead by speech therapist, this activity will faster your child´s social skills and ability to interact efficiently with others, we also include activities that help build, self-confidence, self-steem, and emotional regulation.
12:45 – 1:00 pm.
Gym Free Play and dismissal.
